After-school Program Promotion

The PA NEN is collaborating with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), PA Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK), and the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association to promote after-school nutrition education for low-income school children. The centerpiece of this effort is a PA NEP-approved nutrition education curriculum (ReCharge!).

The PA NEN’s contribution to this effort will consist of the production and distribution of a promotional postcard that that will be mailed to providers of after-school programming to low-income children. The mailing will encourage providers to incorporate nutrition education using the ReCharge! curriculum in their after-school programs. Additionaly, the mailing will serve the purpose of acquainting providers with the resources available through FSNE and Pennsylvania Nutrition Education TRACKS.
