A Word from PA NEN's New Director
Christine Mullin, PA NEN
Hi! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Christine Mullin (aka “Cris”) and I am the new Network Director for the Pennsylvania Nutrition Education Network.
It’s great to be back home! I am a native Pennsylvanian, having graduated from Mechanicsburg Area High School and Harrisburg Area Community College. However, I have been out of the state for quite a few years. My husband was in the United States Navy and we were stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii and New London, Connecticut where we eventually settled and raised our daughter and son.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Hawaii and the University of Connecticut. I later went on to complete a B.S. degree in Allied Health (Clinical Dietetics) and a masters degree in Public Health from the University of Connecticut. I still maintain my interest in U-Conn Basketball!
As a Registered Dietitian, I have worked for Federal, State and Community agencies providing nutrition assessment and education. I have also taught at both the community college and university level. While director of the New London County WIC Program, my interest in nutrition education developed in the area of providing pertinent, understandable nutrition education to clients of varied education and language backgrounds
I look forward to meeting and working with many of you.
